Mission Statement
We are a church that is focused on living right and doing right by God’s word. We believe in preaching the truth even in a world where the word of God is not popular. Narrow Way is a church where you will feel the love and joy of being in God’s presence. A place where one can serve as we work in unity to further the kingdom of God. We welcome all to come and experience being in the presence of the Lord as well as fellowship with one another.
“Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
Philippians 2:2
The Bible
The Bible is the infallible word of God. We hold the Bible as being true and without error. Therefore the Bible shapes how we live, think, and behave ourselves.
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”
2 Timothy 3:16
The Fall of Mankind
We believe from the garden of Eden that human nature has been corrupted by sin. Therefore every person that’s been born has been born with a corrupted sinful nature. We all have and continue to do things that are not Gods perfect way.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
Romans 3:23
Jesus
We believe that there is ONE God. God is a spirit that fills the universe and cannot be seen. However because all have sinned and therefore disqualifying ourselves from being a perfect sacrifice for sin. God manifested himself as a man, just like us to be the perfect sacrifice for our sins. Therefore we do not claim a trinitarian belief, but rather a oneness belief.
“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”
1 Timothy 3:16
The Gospel
We are confident that Jesus walked the earth. He performed many miracles and signs amongst the people. He was crucified and died on Calvary’s hill. He was buried in a tomb. He ressurected or came by from the dead on the third day. After 40 days he ascended back into the heavens with a promise to return. Therefore we await his return.
“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
1 Corinthians 15:3-4
Repentance
All wanting to be a part of Gods church must repent of their sins. We must first acknowledge our sins and have a desire to change. This happens when a person hears God word and believe. Why continue in sins that he suffered and died for?
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
2 Chronicles 7:14
Baptism
Baptism is essential in order to have our sins washed away. Though we may repent and cry, that alone cannot wash away sins. A person must be buried in water in the name of Jesus Christ. Being buried we show our faith in the death, burial, and resurrection and of Jesus Christ. In term we die to our sins, are buried, and through the power of God we rise up a new creation.
“Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
Romans 6:4
The Holy Ghost
The Holy Ghost is Jesus coming to dwell in us. When Jesus lives in us he empowers us to live holy and be changed. A person will know they have received his spirit initially only by speaking with other tongues.
“And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance”
Acts 2:4
Sanctification
Though repented we are not perfect. We must continue to grow closer to God every day. This growth is called sanctification. While we are not saved by works, however the faith in us will manifest itself in growth.
“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men. Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world”
Titus 2:11-12
Eternal Judgement
At the end of the world, Jesus will return and call his saints home. To be saved is to live with Jesus forever in perfect peace. To be lost is to be eternally tormented. There’s two roads before: narrow way or broadway, life or death. Choose the narrow way, it leads to life!
“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire”
Revelations 20:15
